There is a good chance I will be bringing one or two more with me, a possible show by a Fallschirmjaeger, and one of the GI's has a friend that wants to go German as well. I think that will even the odds as I am expecting only about a dozen of us. Besides, you and I alone are worth at least two dozen GI's!!! Klaus ;D

We had a good meeting and talked about a lot of the details.
There will be a waiver of responsibility that everyone will need to fill out. This is not a public event, so no spectators. Everyone should plan on participating. The GI's will be on site this week and get the location dialed in. Directions to the event will be emailed to all the parties. We are planning on camping on site the Saturday before the event. There will be a very large GI tent with a stove that everyone is welcome to stay in. Plan on starting the battles by 9:00am Sunday morning and continueing until we are done. Probably late afternoon. Bring "period" food with you. There will be a debriefing of the rules and a comprehensive safety check beforehand. Everyone participating should bring as much loaner equipment as they have in order to help get everyone suited up. Plan for cold and wet early winter weather, rain or snow the event will go on. We are hoping for snow. Bring money for blank's (depending on the rifle and how much you use, most likely around $10)
What am I forgetting?

As for AMMO, I just put the order in this afternoon and it will ship tomorrow. For the interested parties I will email or call you for the total cost for your ammo.

Things aren't looking too good for me financially so I may have to jump ship to the US side or bow out altogether...both choices would really kind of suck. Fingers crossed.

Well guys, with tonight's electoral events I am going to have to put reenactment stuff on the back burner until I have a better idea of just how comrade Obama's enlightened ideas are going to affect myself and my family. Sounds melodramatic, I know, but when one lives on a shoestring budget one can never be too careful, and I just can't get into something additional that I'll have to put cash into. Going to go back to my original participation date of sometime next spring, but I will sure as heck stay in touch.

No way man, you should still come. Dont worry about purchasing new equipment, just bring what you got and we will help make up the difference. We might be able to car pool from spokane too, that should save a little gas.

Went and checked out the site yesterday. Not gigantic, but plenty of space for a dozen guys to play in. There's a nice big slash pile to pull logs out of for bunkers. That reminds me, volunteers for digging?

Okay, a request: How much lee way would you allow as far as uniforms and weapons. I'd like to request to remain on the German side but be allowed to use "captured" US weapons? In this manner I'd only have to pick up a couple of blank adapters and whatever ammo I can scrounge. Another option....there were German commandos dressed up as US soldiers working behind the lines during the Ardennes Offensive. Still another, Jimmie's idea actually, to have my son running around as a Vichy Frenchman. Sean, did you say that you would allow Flecktarn? Trying to do this as cheaply as possible to ensure our participation, otherwise we're kind of sunk.
Won't be able to camp out either so we'll be there early Sunday morning.
I realise that authenticism is paramount with you guys, so these "erstaz" uniforms that we show up in may make you cringe but we could limit it to only our Spokane area events so we don't embarrasse you guys too much! LOL.

Ersatz uniforms are OK! I think anyone in GI unitform should remain on the GI side. Bring the flecktarn. Dress as a period civilian if you have the outfit (but with a red or white arm sleeve). Go ahead and use the GI rifle, captured is cool! You could be German militia (Volksgrenadier), free french, Russian Volunteer (HiWi), Luftwaffe, Dutch resistance or whatever! Here is a short article on how to create a German Volksgrenadier impression to give you ideas: www.272nd.org/Volkssturm/Volkssturm.htmGetting as many bodies as we can is more important than period correctness or authenticity, in my opinion, as this is not an "official" event anyways. For people wanting to come on Sunday, please arrive as early as possible, as once we start playing who knows how far from the camp we will be, probably no later than 8:00am. Klaus

Good deal, Sean, this is going to help us out a lot. Probably won't know exactly what we're going to have until I have a chance to look over my junk.
Ordering a couple of blank adapters, but will have to purchase some blanks. Does anyone have .30 Carbine blanks as well as 30/06?

Doc Hopper ordered blanks, you can pick some up from him during the event. Depending upon how much you shoot, I am guessing it would probably $10-$20 for the two of you? The Americans shoot more ammo than the Germans usually.

Jimmie and I ordered 100 rounds a piece of 30-06 so there will be plenty to go around.
As for camping, I will not be able to make it out Saturday so I am a no-go on camping. Maybe we should cut the camping for this year? I have so much crap going on and that is a short weekend for me because of my work schedule changing.
Do we have directions yets for the location?
