Hey guys, can the non-crimped red paper insert blanks be used safely in M1 Garands? Been trying to find some alternate blank resources on the web as prices are rising, it seems.

You are talking about the Blank, M1909 cartridge right? You'll need to make sure that you only use CLP to lubricate the M1 as well as making sure that you check all the parts in your rifle for stress and use a BFA that is between 0.172" and 0.185" for the rifle to work properly. The parts you should check often are:

So the 1909 blanks are hotter than the standard red tips that Atlantic Wall puts out?

Be very carefully with those types of rounds. I picked up 1200 rounds of that stuff for dirt cheap but found out after the fact that those types, especially the surplus military type is either 1919 blanks or grenade rifle blanks. TOO HOT! NOT recommended for use in the Garand! Stick with the crimped style from one of the vendors.
I have an email in to Swanson's for pricing.
On a side note, the stuff I got is all on belts and dated from mid 40s -60s.

Rgr that. Was also checking Gunbroker and found some deals, but a couple of them were for the non-crimped style.
