If you guys want to do a cheap PAVN impression just go to a thrift store and buy a pair of Khaki trousers and a Khaki shirt .
You can wear US Jungle boots , the US was dropping Jungle boots around the Ho Chi Min trail so the PAVN would use them and then it would be hard for them to track US S.F teams operating in the area , they PAVN would also use the boots taken from dead or captured ARVN troops , as well as making their own copies of the boots.
For field gear , it was common for them to supplement their own gear with captured gear from the ARVN.
You guys can also go without a helmet , just wear a Khaki hat .
Another piece of gear that was used but would be the expensive one to get was a section of US camo cargo parachute , they would wear these as capes tied around their necks ( for those of you who played Superman as a kid with a sheet , you will know what i mean)
this was used as both a form of camouflage and as a bedroll at night.
