what year is your impression? You might consider an M36.

1941-1942. From what i've seen, the M36 would be more of a veteran item or someone who's been in a bit longer. Not totally sure but my next purchase will be probably a helmet.

The M40 tunic works fine, but for a '41-'42 an M36 certainly isn't out of the question, even if you're not a veteran.
My suggestion for the next item would be an M35 or M40 helmet, w/ or w/o a single decal.
What type of knit shirt did you get: white w/o collar or grey w/ collar?
I'm assuming you're doing infantry -have you decided on a unit?

I have the grey with collar. We just started a unit up about two months ago and we don't have a specific unit but we are based around Schnellen Truppen.

Awesome!
Theoretically, I suppose you don't really need to portray a specific unit, since you're doing Heer. The only thing that would really identify you would be what is stamped on the Erkennungsmarke, written in the Soldbücher and vehicle markings (assuming there are vehicles to mark).
Where did you get your uniform from? In the photo, is your knitted work shirt in the tunic, or is that the colour of the lining?

Yes the knitted shirt is in the tunic. I found out the tunic and I believe the pants as well are Sturm.
