Went shopping yesterday at some of the second hand stores. Couldn't find any wool shirts or trousers. Would anyone have a large wool shirt that my son could borrow? Or, an extra large one that I could borrow so my son could use the shirt I got off eBay? I couldn't find my extra pair of old style combat boots so I managed to find a like new set at Classy Rack, and in the women's shoes section...go figure. Exactly like the ones I was issued back in 1980 when I went to basic training. Cut down and painted brown, they pass for service shoes quite well. Also found a WW2 .50 cal ammo can at the Army Surplus and a US shovel cover that looks to have been modified, so I am not sure of the vintage, but it looks a lot like the WW2 one I have. All in all it wasnt's a wasted trip.

Ciao a tutti! It certainly sounds like you guys had fun; I can't wait to see the photos!  What was the turnout for your first event? I look forward to being able to reenact with you guys in the future, as well as being able to reenact again with a few of you I already know.
