Hey everyone, I have two parades coming up here in June 19th and June 26st and a crap load more once I get the dates I will post updates just need some people to come tag along.
June 19th is Elk Days parade in Elk, WA just north of Riverside. They have a VFW club there but not too many people know about it because they don’t have ways of getting word around that much but there is a large population of vets in that area, vehicles and equipment welcome I am checking up on the firearms if they will let us take them or not but my guess is yes we will most likely be allowed to carry them with us. $3 donation is something they would like to have to support the town.
June 26st is the Newport Rodeo Parade in Newport, WA. This is a pretty large parade with about 4,000 or more people to show up to watch. I have applications for vehicles I sent them out via email to some people already, last year I was the only Military vehicle there so it was a little sad that there is no more vehicles or a float to honor the vets (im working on a sign for my trailer a “thank you vets” or something like that any ideas or designs send me a message). You all will love this part, fire arms are welcome and there is even floats that have these hillbilly guys that shoot blanks so….. yeah. The parade is free for all.
Later on in the summer there will be another parade this time in Cusick, WA. I don’t have the date for it yet but weapons and blanks are welcome in this as well, it’s 15 miles long and we march along the river, if you have vehicles bring them as well.
If anyone finds out any more information on parades put up a post, it’s a good way for us to get more involved with the public and who know maybe we could find some people who would want to join up and get the re-enactment population a little bit more of a boost. So if you want to attend any one these send me a message and we can set up a meeting spot and carpool in, if you don’t happen to get the registration sheets don’t worry you can always do them at the site, it’s just for the announcers to let everyone know who and what we are. Thanks again guys.
