What! You don't think a converstion into a Stuart wouldn't be absolutely amazing!

My vote is for the Stuart also! But man, that's a lot of work.

Wouldn't work as the track assembly on the tractors are different than the M4 tanks. So it wouldn't look right with this style of track.

Close but no cigar, plus the motor is in the wrong spot and should I add more.... Still the wrong suspension. Any hoots, it is up to Jimmy on what he wants to do.

I think he should convert it to a Panzer! My vote is for a STUG III , fast and easy to convert , doesn't have a turret so there is no need to try and make one from scratch and with Schürzen in place you can't tell right away the road wheels are not the same as a STUG's.

About the suspension I mean. It looks identical except for a few minor differences. Again, close but still not correct. The stuart used three upper bogies where the M4 used two. The M4 is flat across the top of the tracks dropping at an angle in the back. With the use of the three bogies on the staurt, the track angles up from the front , flat across the top and a slight angle down in the back. (Kinda oval across the top. Again, close, also the size is different then the staurt. The M4 is wider, longer and the tracks used on it is the same as the shermans (so they are bigger). Me personally, taking something that kinda has the same tracks and trying to make it into something it cannot be, to me is a waste of time and money on something that they only made 5500 of. And if this happens to be an M4A1 model, less than 600 were made! One of the biggest problems in making it a staurt is the motor sits in the middle where the turret needs to be. Also, weighing in at 28,000 lbs makes it difficult to move. Just my .02 cents. Whatever Jimmy does with it is up to him, I would like to see it stay what it is.

A fully restored M4 HST with an M1 Long Tom behind it would be an awesome thing to see at a public display and it works for WWII and Korea. At a re enactment it would work great to take a squad up to the fight.

Yeah, I see it now, and knowing how ornery the reenactor dudes get with uniforms, I guess the same would apply to vehicles, LOL.
