We should figure a way to get into the lilac parade, I understand that there is a three year waiting period to get into it but I was wondering if we could use some of our connections (maybe the davenport) (because another way in is be in a group that has already been involved with it) or I may see if medical lake camber of comers will let us in for them (ill see where I can pull my weight around). I have a sign I could use in my jeep trailer. This would be a good way to get people in the area interested and maybe get them to contact us. Just an idea. Let me know what you all think.

We may have a way in as the Lilac group has contacted a friend of mine that has a WWII truck and they would like to use it. I'll let you guys know when more comes up.

I got the application for the parade, just a few questions before I fill it out. I decided to get the Specialty unit application that way we can do it for our organization the inland Northwest WWII Living History Group, and I’ll put myself in charge for the parade and getting everything worked out with this. I just need to know how many people wish to do this; I assume that it will be around 10 (guessing the amount that was at the Salute to Vets). So if you are in just make a reply on here of who will be attending. The deadline for turning this application in is a little over a month away, so by the end of February will be the deadline for a roster on it, although I will add 2 or 3 numbers to the final amount in case some others wish to come and didn’t sign up in time. Sooner everyone lets me know the sooner it will be turned in and we will most likely be accepted and get a good spot in line. I hope to see a big turnout maybe around 20 or more would be amazing lol.

When is the parade? When I talked to my buddy he said something about April for what they contacted him for. The parade is later then that correct? I'm in and put me down for total of four people.

April 1st is the Deadline for all entries, when i spoke with one of the associates they informed me that i should turn in the application in by early March that way it would go through faster because later applications dont tend to make it in for approval by the deadline. Better to be safe than sorry. Sounds good

I am definitely in. My son would like to also if you guys allow it. That would be fun. Would rifles be allowed? GI's only?

Sorry to burst any one's bubbles but "No firearms, fireworks or open flames are allowed by any parade participant." so it is quite a bummer IMO. also if anyone wishes to have a vehicle in the parade i will need to mail in a copy of the insurance.

When is the parade. My buddy is telling me April 15. They will be using his truck to haul the vets. We are more than welcome to join him.

I checked the Lilac Associations schedule and the parade is on May 15, so my buddy must have misheard them. So we already have an in. They want to use his truck to move the vets so we plan on also bring in two other large trucks (Dodge WC 6x6 and a studebaker closed cab) and the rest of you are invited to come along (vehicles too).
I'm available most weekends so let me know what will work for the rest of you guys.

No weapons? , that's weird , when we do parades in Auburn , Bremerton and Olympia we are fully armed , even some of our vehicles carry heavy weapons on them.
Anyways , i don't think i can make it .
