I was approached recently with the idea of a Battle of the Bulge, mixed blank fire/Airsoft event. December or January time frame on 350 private Acres near Collville, WA.
Is everyone game?

If it were closer to home I'd be interested, although I still don't like mixing reenacting with airsoft.

I don't like the idea of mixing it either, but only because authenticity standards will likely be light to increase attendance. But there are still several benefits to this: exposure for our group, it is close to Spokane, there are no other reenactment events during the same period and it is still fun.
This is not a normal reenactor event, but is a local event instead. I am guestimating attendance to be 15-30.

We should attempt to people from airsoft interested in reenactment by holding a reenactment event. Put on a really good show, pyro, smoke, lots of firefights, etc. Kind of gets in my craw that I am putting all my free bucks into reenactment stuff but the only events in the area are airsoft orientated. I see what you're saying, Sean, but made it a point to bring a era rifle and not an airsoft gun to my first event. We should at least limit it to WW2 era airsoft guns.

Until we can get a better interest in reenacting in this part of the state, these airsoft events are the best thing for us. It gives us a chance to show off our kits and people can see what we do.
As long as I get to use my stuff, I really don't care what we do. I know we are in the process of trying to grow interest in the area and going to these airsoft events will do it for us. Colville isn't that far away at all. Better then driving 8 + hours to an event.

Colville isn't that far for an event, to be sure, but during the December/January months? They get a #^$&load of snow up there. Was this to be held at Wade's ranch? The road up to his place is steep and winding. Its a fantastic area, but it would be pain during icy winter months. That fact alone may dampen the enthusiasm. I know I wouldn't relish the trip.

Agreed. I wish to heck we could get permission to hold something at Camp Seven Mile in Riverside State Park (right by the 7 Mile Bridge). I know the National Guard and Reserves still do stuff there. Its close, its a huge area with varying terrian, with foxholes and some prepared fighting positions already in place. In the winter you wouldn't have to worry about bikers using the trails, but there still may be horseback riders, snowshoers and cross country skiers.
How do the Civil War guys secure that area by the college?

I know what you mean about correct weapons. I saw this you tube video about the British Para doing a 6 June 44, and it had this British para with an AK-47 assault rifle. I didnt know British had AK-47's back then. Hell I didnt know Russians had them back then.
