An organizer for a local veterans group contacted the 1st ID unit commander looking for reenactors in the Spokane area. He just called me and wants as many GIs as possible for an event honoring Purple Heart recipients. Didn't sound too interested in Germans, so either we can change his mind or kit out the krauts as Americans. They're doing an armed forces timeline deal. A Spirit of '76 type flag presentation, then the Civil War guys, WWII, then Fairchild/current service folks. We walk across the stage, through the audience and then hang out for rest of the ceremony. I imagine we can mingle afterward.
Nov 4th at the Masonic Temple, I think 7:30 or 8 start time. They're doing a rehearsal on the 28th, so I need to get back to him ASAP with what we can do.

I am certain that Otto and I would both be happy to attend if the loaner gear is available.

That's great! By the sounds of Sean's growing Heer horde, we're going to need them.

We had a great time and took a few pictures. Otto and I both attended and surprised our American friends by looking even better in a GI uniform than they did. Klaus

Whoa whoa whoa klaus... Looking better than we did? I'm pretty sure i was looking damn handsome in that class A uniform.
I enjoyed the event, was pretty awesome. Thank you to everyone that came and made it all the better. I'm sure the veterans appreciated it very much.
