Well, I've been in touch with MECLHG for a while because it looked like a good group and it was pretty close to NW Montana.

I saw the link, too, on the G503 forum, and am always looking for more contacts in the Pacific Northwest. Hope to get together with other members at an event in the near future. Keep us posted on Memorial Day event(s) as I'm not sure that there are many/any in the Portland/Vancouver area.

Klaus introduced me to the site over e-mail traffic. I am currently in the military serving overseas in Germany. I started the "Phantom Regiment Living History Organization" over here, which is a club of WW2 re-enactors. We are small but getting bigger. We are currently spread to the four winds due to Bastonge Belgium going on right now. We are hoping to get Sherman but we probably end up with a half-track. But anyway, COOL SITE.

I contacted Klaus for possible activities in the Rockford, WA area, but I am an avid military history buff on the side. He send me the link to the 272 Grenadiers, and I am hoping to establish a long and fruitful relationship with reenactors from all times and places in the local area.
Also, I am a vet (USMC and USA), my father is a vet (USN), and my grandfather had his battleship blown out from under him at Pearl Harbor.
I am also a military vehicle collector, so I hope to be able to help in the search for period vehicles, as well as period information to maintain them, as I can tap into the network of military vehicle collectors.
Unfortunately, I, myself, am getting too old for actual combat operations, and I portray a 16th Century Englishman in another group (with the associated hairstyle and facial hair) to meet the participant standards, but I am always available for "behind the scenes" support (admin, research, working parties, etc.), and the occasional appearance of a crusty old Volksturm rifleman or appropriate resistance volunteer.
I'm glad to see such interest in educating the public on this part of world history!
Cheers!

One of our guys is looking for a tank or a half track to rebuild, got one?
And my unit does do Volkssturm, so perhaps I can get you to attend an event?

I typed "WWII Reenacting Northwest" (or something similar) into Google hoping to find new photos posted from previous events and this forum came up in the search results.
