Hey guys, wondering if any of you may be able to ID this pack. I've had it since I was a kid, its brass hardware kind of makes me think it may be pretty old.

It looks like the Pack, field, combat (either M1944 or M1945 - pretty much the same) There is a pack, field, cargo that attaches to the bottom. ( Which I have one here somewhere....) Very late war item, probably better served for a korean war impression.

You could use it but for very late war. Probably a little during the bulge but mostly very very late war.

Guys that is a USMC M41 Haversack , the US ARMY M44/45 was copied from the USMC M41 , so they look similar , but the one Redeye posted is an M41 , good for PTO imps.

Here we go, M41 pack system Top pack open , front Top pack open , back Top pack closed Front Back Bottom pack open Front Back Bottom pack closed Front Back The M41 pack system was used by the USMC throughout WWII , Korea and Vietnam . During the Vietnam war whenever Grunts could get their hands onto ARVN back packs they would discard their M41's in favor of the ARVN packs. The M41 pack system proved to be to small for the needs of Vietnam war grunts.
