Cool, things look like they are shaping up nicely!
Went to the army surplus and got some of the German issue green-gray wool pants for me and my son. We'll be going German but with American weapons for now. Two semi-autos will give the Wehrmarcht some added firepower...until we run out of ammo of course. I kick myself for not ordering blanks earlier! One can fit Garand C clips and Carbine 15rd mags in a Mauser ammo pouch, right?

Does anyone have a German helmet strap I can borrow? Found one on eBay for $20 but I used the money on the trousers.
Alex and I got dressed up to check things out. We don't look too bad. Flecktarn is close to the M42/43 style camo, but not quite. Alex is also going to be using a modern German soft feild cap with mountian infantry insignia on it.

German troops carrying captured weapons during the Battle of the Bulge was very common , i haven't seen pics of Garands in German hands , but there are quite a few pics of Germans with M1 Carbines SS trooper with M1 Carbine Fallschirmjager with M1 Carbine

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. ;D Looking forward to seeing you guys out there tomorrow afternoon. We will need to make sure we have a good stash of firewood for the night and make sure you all have some warm clothes for the weekend. If there is anything you might still need, let Klaus or myself know and we will see what we can do. See you guys soon!

Chances are we'll be running late. Where can we rendezvous with you guys or should we just follow the battle noises?

If Saturday come as late as you need to. If Sunday come early as possible. If you show up after we have moved out then show up in the field dressed up in full gear, even if you don't have ammo. Chances are we'll be running late. Where can we rendezvous with you guys or should we just follow the battle noises?

Everyone, thank you for coming out!
We had 5 Germans and 7 Americans and it worked out perfectly. Everyone had a lot of fun and vowed to return and play again soon. Please post any pictures you have, or get them to me somehow and I can do that. Oh, and the hat I lost was found, sitting on my workbench at home.
Special thanks to the coolest mom in the US, driving Private Ian over from Montana to play, thank you! Everyone really liked Ian and we all hope to see more of him again.
Pictures and more soon.
