Our first ever WWII tactical event on November 29-30th, 2008.
The event is intended to be a fun introduction to WWII re-enacting and tactical battles for a number of new players. We will be conducting a serious of small unit skirmishes themed the Battle of the Bulge (Wacht am Rein for us baddies), winter on the Western Front in Germany, 1944-45.
Everyone should bring as much extra equipment and uniforms to help outfit people as best as is possible. If you don’t have any then don’t worry, you will be equipped.
A meticulous safety check will be conducted and everyone will be briefed on the rules and objectives of the event.
Everyone is encouraged to camp on-site Saturday before so we can start right away on Sunday. If you can not arrive until Sunday morning please do so by 8:00 am or earlier. This is not a public event, so there will be no observers.
The weather is expected to be COLD and COLDER. Bring plenty of warm clothes and extras for when they get wet and something warm to sleep in. There will be a large original 1944 USMC tent with a stove for us to enjoy and sleep in.
Event will be held on private property about 30 miles north of Spokane; event location and directions will be provided personally or by email. The location is easily accessible from HWY 395.
The war effort needs you! Learn about and experience that enormous event that shaped the world we live in today. Experience life as an American GI or a German Soldat for a weekend.

Welcome aboard Congofal and thanks for joining. If this event goes off well, we will probably have more to come.

Hopefully there will be events that i can attend. I haven't done any Re enacting since the 4H event in Salem Oregon last year. I can turn out as either US or FJ depending on numbers. Here's some pics of my impressions US Scout , D-Day + 3 Fallschirmjager Carentan I also have a Battle of the Bulge imp 2nd Infantry, the flag is an actual flag brought back by a veteran and donated to our group , all the members of the platoon who captured the flag signed it.

I plan on it , hopefully this time there won't be any friendly fire incidents like last year . I was on charge of the FJ patrol that got into a firefight with the 272nd on the crossroads.

Got my blank adapters. Hopefully I will be able to order some blanks in time for both the Garand and Carbine. If not, is anyone going to have 30 Carbine blanks available? Sean, any more numbers being added to the German side? Its looking more and more like I'll be going US.

I think we will have plenty of volunteers! Its not a big deal if one side out weighs the other by a bit. I don't thing I have been to an event yet that was "fair".

Well I was kind of looking at it from a "historical" perspective. The Ardennes Offensive initially struck across a front that was undermanned and manned by inexperienced troops. An attempt at realism would be to have the US units outnumbered and scrambling to hold their lines.
Getting paid from my second job tomorrow, so hopefully I can pick up some uniform stuff.

I was thinking that the event was kind of like two squad sized groups of soldiers, both lost in the confusion. What do you think?

Hmmm, sort of a Hurtgen Forest thing, huh? Okay, that would work, but there'd be no objectives or anything? Would be cool to hold a crossroad or a hill, have both units set out to accomplish this and trying to accomplish the same mission?

Hey, is anyone going to have .30 Carbine ammo available? I waited too long to place an order due to lack of funds. Gads....I sound like a broken record! Sorry!
