Perhaps spray painting would be the route to go, eh?

That looks good , can't tell if it's original or repro , but that price is great.

That's what I was thinking! I will just need a shirt and some ersatz boots and I should be set. Not sure if my M1 Garand ammo belt is going to be kosher tho. Its an OD color and of a different style I beleive.

OD cartridge belt will be fine , they started issuing OD gear in 1943 , i have a '42 dated Garand cartridge belt that is OD with Khaki covers and belt.

Ok, cool. I am noticing a distinct lack of eyelets for strapping gear on the Garand belt tho. Is this normal?

There should be two eyelets between each ammo pouch one on top and one on the bottom.
If you can post a photo of it i might be able to tell if it's US manufacture or foreign.

I will get a pic posted. It actually has USMC printed on the inner portion, LOL, but no date.

Put my Musette bag, Garand belt and suspenders together yesterday and got them adjusted, then wore them around the house with my M41 jack for a bit while the wife rolled her eyes. LOL. Still haven't gotten the uniform. I keep seeing deals on eBay, so I wait for the end of the auctions that end up soaring past the amount that I could get the stuff from ATF brand new. I'd like to crawl through cyberspace and strangle those idiots that bid so damn early. Oh well.

Took a wire wheel and a power drill to the boots, LOL. Worked pretty darn good! Just need to get some brown shoe polish now. What kind of laces?

If jump boots either leather or a brown lace will do.
