Luckily I found an M41 jacket last year for a decent price in size 50. I was unsure how baggy it would be but found it wasn't baggy at all. Its frustrating shopping for shirts because of the size 14, 15, 16 thingy.
Nick, Blake, where did you get your stuff?

At the Front is my favorite for most everything. They have the best quality to price ratio. Most of my uniform stuff I got there, except I wear original wool pants. Their field gear is really good, definitely spend the money on good stuff. The cheap stuff falls apart and is usually incorrect anyway. Pick up some HBTs, they work for just about everything, and no one will pregnant dog if you wear them. Get the service shoes or rough outs first, those work for the whole war. I prefer the service shoes, but that's up to you. Leggings show up all over the place, check ebay and sometimes I find them at surplus or antique stores. I like the jeep cap for under my helmet but always have my HBT cap too. The ATF jeep caps don't look right, it's about the only thing of theirs I haven't liked. WW2 Impressions makes a good one, but also the most expensive. For the shirt size next time youre at a department store ask them to measure you.

I have found most of my uniforms at goodwill and value village over the years. Sadly there hasn't been much lately though. The 14, 15, 16 thing comes down to neck sizes so go get measured at a department store to find out your size.

Yea we got stitch Nazis over here also. I have guy that plays a German re-enactor, and he says he wears all original stuff from hat all the way to the shoes. He even wears a splinter camo panzer wrap. But the guy is a retard nad he only believes what he see's in Pictures. I have another buddy that place a German recon guy, and he wears his MP40 pouches upside down, and that is from a actual vetran from the Russian front, because thats how the Vet wore them. It was easier to draw his magazines that way. But since this (orginal wearing stiitch nazi) guy did not see a photo of this guy with his pouches upside down, he feels that it wasnt like that, like it didnt happen. So I know how you feel.

One thing that I do for my GI impression for the boots is this. I take a pair of old US Army jump boots the black ones, cut above the 6th eyelet and paint them brown put some wax laces on them and they will work till you get some money to buy a decent pair of repros. Thats what I am doing for my impression. But hey I'm lucky to get a $50.00 allowence a month. Just thought I would share that info with you guys.

I've done something similar with an older pair of US combat boots that were first issued to me back in the early 80's. Although I somewhat botched the cut, you can't see this once the leggings are on anyhow. I was going to remove the black polish and redo them with brown. Anyone know a quick way of removing old polish?
