If you like anime check out the Hellsing OAVs (Hellsing Ultimate). British anti-vampire unit vs. SS vampires and the Vatican. Very cool. You even get to hear Das Engelandlied (Wir fahren gegen Engeland) for the end credits of #4.

From what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of WWII German themes in anime and they aren't always the bad guys. If you want to see how prolific it is, go on Google images and type in "nazi anime" or "nazi cosplay". You'll be both shocked AND amused! I just saw another topic on this forum about Star Wars storm troopers and now this topic on anime ...this hobby is just chock-full of nerds! Frederico

Lots of different nerd flavors out there, turns out our interests tend to overlap. I attend Sakuracon in Seattle most years, and always find a couple of reenactors. I usually wear my airborne jacket so they can identify me. This last year I accosted a guy in an M40 tunic assuming he was a reenactor. Turns out there's an anime in which the characters are personifications of countries circa 1940 or so. He was Germany and had no idea what I was talking about, nor did I have any knowledge of that show. That was a popular cosplay this year, so I got to see anime fans' interpretations of an anime's interpretation of German uniforms.
