And what are, if any, the rules about cell phones? Each squad is equipped with a single cell phone. Cell networks were very common in Normandy in 1944. If your Squad Leader knows the phone number of the enemy he can call them up and say "Jerry, your dead! I see you behind that bush. Now take your hit and go back to the dead pool." In other words, try and keep it out of site and ear shot at all times. I set mine to vibrate and carry it in a secret pocket in case it is needed for emergencies. Klaus ;D So, ops end around 5? Hell, here I was preparing for the trenches! Well shoot, I think I will bring my trailer down then and get a good nights rest! My back has been giving me a lot of trouble as of late and given the choice...bed or cot...hmmmm, that's a tough one! What did the paratroopers wear for colder weather? |

They usually wore their standard jump gear with the addition al the wool shirt and trousers under the jump pants.

Maybe I will bring my M41 to wear under the jacket, just in case....
I got a pair of jump boots from Bruce today that are gorgeous. Just need a set of laces, any ideas where to get some? With the addition of the boots I think I am set for a basic kit.
Do we have any maps to the event area yet?

I was on the verge of telling everyone that I would not be attending, but the option to attend at all was taken away.
Event has been CANCELED! Due to the conditions of the site this time of year, the event has been canceled. It is extremely muddy up there, not only would everyone get stuck, but the land would suffer quite a bit of damage. Because of this the event organizers decided to cancel the event and preserve the landscape for the next event in June.

Whew...I was just about to post that due to a much smaller paycheck than what I anticipated (and the fact that I ordered a bunch of stuff from ATF, LOL) that I wouldn't be able to go. Well, okay, when's the next event? Do we want to try and do something up here on that weekend?

Are we going to try and have a "replacement" event? May not be too late to get a permit for 7 Mile for that weekend....
