This is an RPS event and several of us from Spokane will be attending. It will be held at Lyle WA, half the drive of the last event. Canceled due to forces outside of our control. Klaus

Yes with the 101 guys, but they will be 82nd guys since it is early war. Un-reinforced M42s if possible. If not then reinforced M42s then. Let me know ahead of time so I can let the group know you are coming.
The old 82nd still has a group within it so I will make sure you join 'our' group.

What type and how much stuff do you guys usually bring to events? Food? Water? Coolers? Extra clothing? Since this would be a first time out thing for me I want to make sure I don't forget something major or bring something I wouldn't use. Will there be barracks? Tents? Will we be out in the weather in foxholes? Etc.
I already resigned myself that I won't be getting any sleep for these three days, LOL, especially with Klaus and Otto out there waiting to capture me while I am taking a leak. For sure going to be bringing a lot of ibuprofen and Zip-Fizz!
What are the directions once you get down there?

That all depends upon the unit.
In my unit we bring only period camping items (german zelt and wool blankets) and my reenacting uniform, weapons, gear and equipment. Your unit will usually supply tentage if you need it.
I do not bring: water, food, a sleeping bag, a cooler, and almost all other non-period item. Our unit has a cook and supplies all food. Water is always available on site for everyone.
non-period items I do bring: Medicine carefully packaged in a period tin. Beer in period bottles. Extra set of clothing i leave in the car for the ride home.
The site is about 8 miles from Lyle, WA. Exact directions will be given out by the units.

Nick, how much advance notice would you need for my son and I to get hooked up with the 82nd during this event?
Blake and Jimmy are both going as 82nd, correct?

If they go, they will be 82nd. The sooner the better so that I can let my XO know and to make any arrangments that may be needed to get you squared away. Or I can contact the 3rd AD and see if you can attend with them. Let me know.

Pricing the standard '42 jump uniforms.
I suppose the first big question that should be answered is if they will allow my son to participate. If not, then the cost of attending this event is going to be considerably less. Any way we can get that clarified right away?
And yeah, would like to shadow Jimmy and Blake my first time out and learn the ropes from them rather than relying on complete strangers.
