All events require the individuals to either be a member of or a guest of a recognized unit. Just tell Doc you want to go and he will make you a guest in his unit. You can go glider rider and use all the infantry gear you have. No new uniform required.
The RPS requires a $30 yearly fee that provides you with insurance coverage at all events of the year. Each event also has an event fee. You can get the event fee details from your host unit.

Well, All I can say is that to attend RPS events, participants are required to be members, Not sure what you think is "back-assward" about that, just a fact of life in a litigous society I guess. There have probably been exceptions to that requirement, but can't speak for the RPS in that regard What I meant was it sounded as tho one could attend free as a guest of an RPS member but then would be required to pay the $30 dues to attend the event. Klaus kind of cleared that up. ;D

Also want to point out that there are no individuals in this game. you can't just show up to an event with a costume and expect to play. All reenactors are a member of a unit. this enforces authenticity, squads, platoons, and is just plain fun.

Greetings Klaus,
My Sons had a great time, haven't gotten the full debriefing yet, but from what I have heard so far, sounds like a very good event.
