Quite a few of us will be attending this event. It will be at Camp Rilea.
Otto, Christoph, Fiedler and myself will be attending on the German side.
I know Doc will be attending on the US side.
Who else is coming?

I can't make that one, but 3 of my sons are planning on being there. It looks to be a great event with the possibility of using the MOUT site. You guys have fun. Kevan Bowen

You can't make it? Attendance from the 272nd is really strong for this event and I heard about using the MOUT site as well and heard it is a lot of fun to battle in.

Where is this located? Would the US be paratrooper or ground pounder?

You can attend as either, talk to Doc and he will get you in. Camp Rilea, on the OR coast.

What group is putting this together? The MOUT site at Rilea is awesome , i have been on hat MOUT site many times , neither the attacker not the defender has the advantage in there , if you have a good plan of attack you can take the town , same thing if you are defending.

It is an RPS event. The 272nd will be attending and so will Doc's 82nd AB.

I don't have a HEER impression yeath , so i might go as a dogface , specially since the FJ seem to have no plans so far for this.

Honestly i have no idea , i seem to be out of the loop as far as event planing. A few of the FJ seem to have joined the SS unit. I will be joining Mike and Frederick in the Italian unit for the events that the Italian unit goes to.

Klaus, I have to work nights that weekend, would need to take almost a weeks worth of vacation to go (36 hours) so not going to happen for me, but 3 of my sons should be going. Remember that the MOUT site is never a sure thing, I don't want to get everyones hopes up and then find out that we have been bumped. Kevan

I can't commit yet. I'd like to go, for sure. Would there be any uniform/gear restrictions for GI's? Would 82nd AB glider troops be present? Doubt very highly if I could get a paratrooper impression before then, especially now that I've cut back my hours at my second job.
What is the cost to attend? I suppose we'd be sleeping out in the mud and rain, or would there be barracks?

Hi Redeye, Since this is an RPS event, Those attending must be a member or guest of one of the units in attendance. I have seen individuals attend who weren't part of a unit, but that is a rare occasion, and must be approved by the RPS leadership, But let me add that I do not speak for the RPS and am new myself to the organization. Having said that I think there are units out there with enough loaner gear to get you outfitted. The cost will depend on battle fees, but for a persons first event with the RPS, battle fees are waived, RPS dues would be applicable however, I think they are around $30 per year, accommodations are excellent, almost 5 starish compared to other events. Like I said, I probably shouldn't be speaking for the RPS, but since I think I am the only one on this forum who has been a member, I will try and help with the info that I have. Hope this helps a little, Kevan

Kind of doubtful if I can attend this one anyhow. Would have to take a vacation day from work and I just won't have the time built up by then due to the holidays.
So to understand, I'd have to be a guest of someone like Doc, but then I'd be expected to pay dues for RPS? Sounds kind of back-assward...

Well, All I can say is that to attend RPS events, participants are required to be members, Not sure what you think is "back-assward" about that, just a fact of life in a litigous society I guess. There have probably been exceptions to that requirement, but can't speak for the RPS in that regard
