Unfortunately an argument between the unit committee and Erich occurred and was not resolved well. I no longer wish to be in a unit that I have no say in, and no longer am welcome.
I am not sure were to go from here.

Holy crap! Like Nick said, "wow". What the hell happens now? Is it possible to form another unit? Are there other established ones you'd be interested in joining? Is Otto going to stick with the 272?
This sucks man, sorry.

Man, the Germans have lost a good chunk of a unit and us GI grunts haven't fired a shot.
All levity aside, it does suck. It hurts reenacting as a whole when mickey mouse BS like this occurs. Form your own unit, Sean!

very, thanks for the sympathy. I worked harder, longer and more consistently than any other member of the unit. I had a very strict personal policy of absolutly not being involved with BS politics of any kind but somehow they found me. I feel betrayed and am extremely depressed. I am not sure if I will continue reenacting any longer.

Dude, don't fall on your sword because of some other ignorant person. Take up the flag and soldier on. You got all the knowledge and experience, don't let it go to waste. Just the fact that so many others of the 272 dropped out should tell you something. Contact these inidviduals and form your own unit.

Thanks for the slap in the face! I have been working on my options. Don't know if they will be cleared up for some time but trying none the less.

Klaus, you can't leave reenacting now...I just got started... Not only that...but you're the one that got ME into this hobby that I've sunk a lot of bucks into. You are not ALLOWED to quit! I must first meet you in battle at least once for crying out loud. Get your goosestepping former squad mates together and quit talking like a Frenchman! ;D

You could come down to El Paso and form a DAK unit (Herr Klaus You could always form the 74INF WH unit, they fought in Russia but I am sure you could form something. The reason I said the 74INF because I have a really good friend here in Germany who's dad fought for that unit as Foward Observer. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Got a really good picture of his dad in jackboots and shorts somewhere in Russia. Besides you cannot leave, who else can I buy my K98 from. I hope you still got the stuff that I sent you. Tell your old Commander to go join the SS weenies and eat a can of spam. Well go form your own unit (El Paso TX. DAK) and do the right thing. Winston Churchill once said " I am ready to meet my maker. Whether my maker is ready to meet me is a different matter." Remember only the French and thier allies quit! No one likes a quitter!
