Anyone going to be watching Tom Hanks new 10 part mini series on HBO called "The Pacific"? looks like it will be pretty good and dead on with their research for early Marine combat. If you don't have HBO and are a dish network customer you will be able to watch it for free on ch 101.

When does it start because I will be in the states at the end of the week.
I guess that is one of the bonsuses about being overseas. it starts on the 20th and we get it for free.
Lets see how many Marine reenactors we get out of this series like "Band of Brothers" pulled in. As in we have a gazillion Easy Company 101 guys over here in Europe now. Aw the sweet of Germans shooting the MG3 on the ranges. what a nice way to go to bed.

Of course being in the MCHA I had to watch it! ;D
Good stuff! Although I did like the band of brothers format better where they picked one story and stuck to it.
I of course had to go out and buy Sledge and Lucky's books as well.
What immediately struck me as "oh nuts" was when the Japanese Navy came down the slot and sunk or drove off the US Navy......basically stranding the USMC on Guadalcanal. And sending their gear and supplies, yet to be unloaded to the bottom.
Thank god that didn't happen at Normandy!
