Thanks everyone ;D I take it you're looking for M1 Carbines? Couple of places to try; J&G Sales and SOG International. Both do a lot of surplus firearms sales. You can also try Century Arms. Google them and see what they have. I would also suggest trying Gunbroker.com, but the majority of those you find will be top notch collector grade which will be pretty pricey. Still it wouldn't hurt to check.

The guy I have been talking to at www.kidnapeasywhite.com/Index.html, I think his name is Don. Has been really helpful, but the issue of firearms has come up. They dont allow anyone new guy to have carbines, but my brother and I cannot afford the M1 Garands that we're finding. We wouldnt be so worried if they allow blank adapters, at least then we can still use them as actual firearms. Spending $800-$900 for a rifle you cant take out shooting is just not in the budget. Any ideas?

Hi Ranger, M1 Garands do use blank adapters, you can go with the cheap ones for around $12 or get the fancy Pop's Hollywood style, for around $90. both types just thread on the barrel and therefore easily removed to shoot live ammo. A field grade M1 Garand through the cmp will run around $500. A pretty good investment, Although you will have a few hoops to jump through, not to mention a 3 to 4 month wait once you have ordered the rifle. Hope this helps,

Don't allow new guys carbines? Then they better have loaner weapons for you. Having guys show up is way more important than pretending to have authentic weapon distribution. And everybody uses regular blank adaptors on M1 rifles. The rifle adaptors are unobtrusive, always work, are affordable and don't affect live-firing. If they don't like new guys having carbines from a functionality standpoint that's understandable, the dumb things don't like to work with blanks.

They said privates were never issued carbines and therefore inaccurate. I asked about the adaptors for either rifle and I was told that they do not allow blank adaptors. You must take it to a gun smith and have it permanently done...

Hi Ranger, You must have misunderstood them, Garands do not require any permanent modification to be blank adapted, Carbines do however need the barrel threaded inside to allow a drilled out set screw to be threaded into the barrel, I have done this on one of my import marked barrels. works very well, and once the restriction is removed still allows live fire, and not a noticeable lack of accuracy. There is a blank adapter available for the carbine, but it is very noticeable and not used in the reenactment community. Having said all that, carbines cost as much as a garand anyway, so why not just get the garand and call it good.

Hi Ranger, I would jump through the hoops and get one from the CMP, It really isn"t that hard to do, just takes some patience.

Withthe carbines though, they may be priced right, but to make it WWII type might cost you some $$$$. You have to have the bayonet lug pull and I think the sights are different. So to have a 'correct' carbine will cost you more.
The 101 RPS guys are strict on what they allow.

No way in hell I am going to drill and tap my Carbine or pull the bayonet lug. If the thing was a junker only good for blank fire that would be one thing, but even Carbines are getting pretty darn pricey.
I can see the RPS guys' point about the external blank adapters for the Carbine, I've been trying to figure out how to machine the one I have to make it less conspicuous. Needless to say I am still working on it.
