Just wondering what uniforms/equipment are going to be available for our January event. Getting real close in getting myself and my son fixed up, but still don't have everything.

Thank you for the offer Herr Otto, but I think the GI's here in town all have mini museums of GI stuff and should have plenty of options available.

My son may or may not have an actual uniform by then, which is the biggy. Friggin things are just too darn expensive so I've been concentrating on feild gear and stuff. He's going to need trousers and a jacket, possibly canteen belt suspenders. I think I found an old canteen belt in my stuff and he's already got the Carbine ammo pouches and a helmut that will pass. I need to get a liner for my HBT jacket or itsa gonna be cold!

Don't be afraid to wear modern warm clothes under the uniforms. Better to stay warm!

You know its funny that you said wear modern gear to stay warm. I have heard that there are re-enactors that went to Belguim for the Battle of the Bulge event, and just took with them what the GI's had back then. They actually dug a hole and lived out of those holes. So these guys actually slept in there holes with their uniforms and wool blankets. Forget that, I am not even that hard core. I am a baby I will be in a hotel at night eating horse steaks und trinken die bier.

Klaus, Hey how are you guys doing on loaner gear for the Germans? You dont have a mini museum do you? I was thinking about sending some of my German stuff to you for loaner kit. I am still thinking about it. What do you guys need for loaner stuff, I might be able to help.

I need to get a liner for my HBT jacket or itsa gonna be cold! How big is he? We have plenty of field gear and uniform pieces between us but of the course the uniforms are size dependent. I'm sure Doc's stuff would be too long. I have smaller stuff that should be closer.

He's about 5'4" at the moment, but husky. Watching a couple auctions at the moment, good chance he'll get something for Christmas now that the wife has signed off on it, LOL.

My boy's kit is coming along nicely. Got the uniform, belt, ammo pouches, leggings, and will soon have suspenders and possibly a M1928 pack. We're both probably going to wear our German wool pants we wore at our first event under our HBTs, so we'll be toasty in that regard. I am still worried about the boots tho. I may have to rig our modern RG waterproof boots to keep us warm, paint em brown and wear leggings over them. LOL.
