Meeting went real well. Thank you Adam for showing up and providing some info on how the public events operate.
Chris Duigotti was very receptive to the idea after being a little reluctant at first. The fact that the Civil War events set precidence help us out a lot. He's taking notes from our meeting today to his supervisor and will back in touch we me possibly next week.
Tactical events would need a $10 permit. The major public events would require signing a contract and liability waivers.
I presented our approach as one of a slow progressive process which was well received. Once his supervisor signs off on the idea we're going to meet again at the area and discuss things. I suggested signage on the borders of the area we are using warning that we're in the area and that blank fire was in progress. He liked that idea also.
All in all the indications are positive that we can have our January tactical event at the park.
We should have a meeting soon to discuss planning. At some point it would be a good idea to meet at Camp 7 Mile also. I can show you guys around the area to make it easier to plan. I will also get maps and such.
I'm pumped! I fully expect sergeant's rank out of this however...LOL ;D

Very good. Wish I could have gone, but someone called in sick today and I ended up working. If there's another meeting hopefully I can make it. We do need to get everyone together pretty soon to work this out further.

Ok, so were are we at on this now? Any official news yet? Are we just waiting for him or are there some steps that we will need to take?

We're still on this. Mr. Guidotti has to take our proposal to his supervisor before we go any further. Unfortunately this supervisor was up to their eyeballs with things to do so it was mentioned that it may take up to two weeks, but I would be notified as soon as this portion was done. The next step would be to meet with Mr. Guidotti at the location.
If any of you guys would like to hook up and scope the area out beforehand I'd be more than willing to show you around the area. It's basically been my playground since I was a teenager.
I was thinking that another alternative area for skirmishes would be the spot where I've done both shooting and airsofting with Spokane Airsoft. I wouldn't advise it during hunting season, but off season it may be okay. People out there are used to seeing dudes in uniform running around with guns, and the fact that there is an "unofficial" shooting range already there means they would not be spooked by gunshots. This spot also has some excellent terrian and is located on South Bank Road just past Nine Mile Falls.

Received this today: Mike, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Utilizing the military area for WWII reenactments should work. Prior to using the area I would like to get together with you on site to work out the logistics. We will then need to fill out a special activity permit which costs $10.00. You will also need to provide proof of liabiltiy insurance prior to the event. I look forward to working with you.The permit doesn't concern me, I hope you guys know how to arrange liability insurance! Mike

Fricken Awesome Mike!!! I will look for you in my sites this January. When can we go out and check out the site?
We have a couple of options for Liability Insurance. I am looking into obtaining access to the PNWHG insurance, but we have some other options if this doesn't come through.

Good deal Sean!
When I replied to Mr. Guidotti's email I hinted that a weekend would probably the best time to congregate. Do we want to try and aim for next weekend? That would also give me some time to possible get some maps. I want to get some topo maps and mess around with them to try and recreate a WW2 style map and reprint them. This probably won't happen until our actual op, though.

I would like to do the same for German maps. How are you doing it?
This weekend is out for me, so is the next since it is an event weekend.

Rgr next weekend being no good. Let's try and find a weekend that will fit for anyone who'd like to attend and we'll go from there. If it doesn't come together, I will just set something up with Mr. Guidotti.
As for the maps, I plan to do a lot of stuff in Photoshop as soon as I get my computer put back together, lots of scanning and re-mastering original maps. It will be several weeks still as I have to get a new CPU and such, but the outcome should be cool.

Last call for 11/14 or 11/15. Need to let Mr. Guidotti know to see if his schedule will allow it.

So far I haven't heard anything back, so I can only assume Mr. Guidotti is pretty busy. I would like to get a meeting together amongst us to discuss the January event and what we need and stuff. Do we want to keep this event KISS simple? I was kicking around the idea of some era style signs for the roads, nothing fancy, but some additional emersion for us. Are we going to have the Germans on the assault? Meeting engagement? That type of stuff.

Yes, we do need to meet about the event details. More on that soon. First, we still need to meet the park manager right? And go over the site? Still on for this Saturday?
