Okay, these are my ersatz GI boots. Will be adding a dull coat to cut down on the sheen, but the stuff I had on hand was bad. That being said, would these pass muster until I can get something closer?

They would work. I have a pair of early black paratrooper boots. Let me know what size you are and if they fit you can have them and do the same with them. They are identical to WWII boots except black.

I wear size 10.5-11 in most shoes and boots.
No leggings with jump boots, correct?

They are 10R. If they are like my old military boots they tend to be a little on the big side. When we have our next meeting I'll bring them and let you try them.

Outstanding...now all I need is the para uniform, LOL. I am thinking of putting the HBTs I just got on eBay. They're still brand new, but it will probably be the only way to get a hold of the airborne uniform any time soon.

You could keep the HBT's and go Ranger.

Nope. Jimmy and Blake usually go 1st ID. Doc usually goes 82nd para. This year however both Jimmy and Blake went para at two events with Doc and it worked out well and they are considering picking up the extra kit. Its just a fluke that this October event is a para only thing and by that I mean non-glider troop. It is a one time occurrence, and Doc is probably the only Ami from Spokane that will be attending that.
If you continue to focus on your infantry impression you will be able to use it as 1st ID with Jimmy and Blake or as a glider troop with Doc.

Correct our unit has glider riders. That is how I got my start. Had the basic leg impression and went from there.

Guess I better get some velcro for the patches to switch between 82nd and 1st ID then. I suppose I can keep the 1st ID patch on my M-41 and do the 82nd on the HBTs...
As a side note: Those boots I'm using were first issued to me back in 1980 during Army basic training. Ironic they're still in use, hehehe.

If your doing two impressions don't worry about a patch until you have two m41's, you would use your m41 and your HBT's since the m41 goes over it.
