Okay, I got the cash for the uniform. Should I go 1st Pattern HBT or 2nd Pattern HBT?

What theater of operation are you planning on doing? I personally would go with 2nd pattern.

Well I am going to try and be a member of the 1st ID, so definitely the ETO. I do like the 2nd pattern better because of the larger pockets on the jacket.

Got my uniform today...despite following ATFs sizing recommendations, the damn trousers were too small in the waist. Gotta pay shipping now to send them back and more shipping to exchange them. Things are made in China!!! WTH? Hope these are not the same units you can get from the Hong Kong Hikishop on ebay for less....kind of ruined my day.

The bastards, sorry that that hapend Red. On a good note, ammo was ordered today. Should be here in about a week. I also found a guy in Spokane that wants to reenact German with my unit. Hopefully our numbers will increase by one soon.

Most everything is from China now. ATF Chinese stuff is still good though, their last batch of US made HBTs turned yellow. The Chinese stuff has not. I've been very happy with pretty much all my ATF stuff. Just got a Mackinaw coat from them, it looks great.

I got the trousers sent back the other day for a new size, still irks me, but that's life. The jacket size is okay and looks pretty darn sturdy, but we'll see when we get it out in the field. Just have to get a shirt now.
Watching Band of Brothers again paying close attention to the uniforms. Pretty damn confusing. Just about every scene they have new combos! Gah!

Make sure your jacket isn't too tight, remember that HBT's were made to go over your wools.

Make sure your jacket isn't too tight, remember that HBT's were made to go over your wools. Jacket is good and loose. I'd be able to wear my M41 jacket beneath it with no problem. Length could longer in the arms, but I've had to deal with that most of my life.  |

Outside of the HBT jacket? Not sure how that would work out, will have to try it both ways.
