The back pockets are wierd. I have '45 dated wool pants i wore for the battle of the bulge tactical and the pockets on those are more straight to a point not arched. I would say no don't get them, get a set with the ike and wool pants. Thats what i did and i got it for $30 on ebay including the ike jacket.

Good thing I asked! Problem is its hard getting my size for a decent price. Will probably stick with a new set of HBTs from ATF.

HBT's are good but i recomend getting wools first. Though more expensive, guys prefered it more than HBT's and its can be used for you combat uniform and dress uniform. Plus wools were worn under the HBT's so either way, you can't be wrong with getting wools.

Well, I have to look at it from a monetary standpoint. I have to get the most for the money. I can get a complete HBT uniform for less than one pair of wool pants. I've been looking for deals, but they're hard to find. I also need something if we're going to do an op in August so I need to order soon.

True, just keep your eyes out for ebay. Ike jackets are always up there with wool pants for pretty cheap.

Ike jackets weren't generally worn by combat troops in the field tho, were they?

No, but if you want wool pants cheap get them in a set with the ike jacket. Thats what i did, but i have heard of troops wearing the ike jacket under the combat uniform for extra warmth.

Redeye, What size do you wear? I might be able to pick some up for you from "My Friends Footlocker" I just got to give him your size and order them. He might have your size. He is a garage dealer if you know what I mean. Let me know and I will get ahold of them for you. It just might take awhile though. I can mail them to Klaus for you.

I dont know how much, I got to talk to him. Maybe I can work a deal with him to get them pretty cheap. He has alot of original stuff, the pair of wools I got from him are original. Plus you are about the same size as me. I will ask. I may actually get them for free, beacuse I get some boxes for him and I ship them off to him. I guess you can say I am a half way house for his boxes. I will ask though, it probably wont be till September but I will see what I can do for you. Shipping is like 3-4 bucks, not that much at all, if or when I get them I will let you know.

September would be good as the cold weather will be right around the corner, and I do prefer wools at that time. Appreciate the assistance!

I dont know if he can get your size but I can try to get the next larger ones up. At least that will cover you till you can find the proper size. That is if you still want them, because he sold the last of that size out the back of his truck during our Cobra event. I wear the same size, so he knows how hard it is to get. Sorry but I will keep trying for you.

Yes please, that would be great. From the look of my searches I won't be getting any deals any time soon, so I can afford to be patient.

Guys, the Army Surplus has US Army wool trousers marked 1951. How close are these from WW2 wool trousers? Is the style and cut completely different from WW2? Will they work?
