There is an injustice coming over here in Germany. The 1st AD Armour division is shutting down, and they have vehicles that are going home back to the states. We have Sherman's, Half-tracks, Hetzers, German Half-tracks, 88's, and other military equipment. The thing is, is that the US Government wants to turn these vehicles into scrap metal, or use them on ranges for target practice. Here is the deal, The German museums are willing to pay to have them saved and put into their own museums as collectors pieces. But our gov. does not want that, why??? What can we do to stop this??? Does anybody know how??? I just thought that maybe we can get the word out to see if we can stop this from happening, any suggestions??

You'd have to get a campaign going for people to write/call their congressmen and senators, most likely. What I can't figure out is if the German museums are willing to shell out cash for this stuff, why the gov doesn't go for it. However, we're dealing with bureaucrats, and since when has anything they've done made sense?

That is so true. I am trying to get a M3A1 halftrack for our club to have and keep hold of. But only thing is, is that someone on post has to sign for it and keep it stored somewhere.
