Ok, so I take it the Germans will be on defense this time out? Was wondering how kills work when your target is behind a defensive emplacement? Its really hard, but like the real world you will have to assault the position and use a lot of grenades. Klaus

So I guess the importance of flanking while a frontal assualt is going in can not be understated. The Krauts need machineguns....heheheh

I have seen battles were our defences were just overwhelmed by the attackers. I have also seen our my unit get anihilated attacking a well concealed position.
We have also carefully moved into multiple positions with other units all around the postion to be attacked. One group will them assault and try to get ontop of the position with as much gunfire and grenades as possible. While the defenders are pinned down a second group will then assault from a different direction and sprint to the top of the posiiton as fast as possible firing from the hip to keep the defenders heads down.
I have also seen smoke used for concealment for the attackers.
The trick is to be aggressive.

The German tactic for attacking any enemy position was to assault by squads , while one squad pins the enemy down the other squad moves on the enemy , that squad would then go to ground and give covering fire while the first squad moves up to close with the enemy , goes to ground and gives covering fire while the second squads come up and joins the first squad , both squads then have their grenadiers throw grenades onto the enemy position , before the grenades detonate both squads make the final rush onto the position , the squads will hit the position as the grenades are going off , giving kinda of an edge to the German squads .

On a few events the enemy as opted to bipass our defensive position instead of making any type of assault against us , mainly because our Zug is a heavy weapons Zug , when we are out in force we can field 2 MG34s , 3 Beretta 38a's , a pair of STG44s and a pair of MP40s along with K98ks.

Only in very late war scenarios will you see three or four automatic weapons in my squad. The rest of us just have rifles.
Typically we will have one or two SMG's, one MG34, and six or seven k98's. One rifle may be a G43 and the squad may have a rifle grenade launcher. This is the typical armament of a rifle squad.
Despite our low numbers of automatic weapons, we perform very well in the field.

Hey Guys! I believe this event may be pulled off. Get your equipment ready and locate your ammo. We are looking at about 5 men on each side. It also looks like we will not be camping out on Friday night.
Show up before 10:00am. Same location as last time. Please speak up if you plan on attending so we can get a head count.
