Our very own WWII tactical event! February 6-7, 2009 Event Location: TBD (possibly same spot as last time and it will be an easy drive from Spokane) Operation Grenade was the codename for the Allied plan to cross the River Rhine and enter Germany to Victory. This will be a late war early 1945 winter tactical event. This event is intended as a fun introduction to WWII re-enacting and tactical battles for the new player. We will be conducting a series of small unit skirmishes themed around the Axis withdrawal from the Ardense forest after the failed Battle of the Bulge (Wacht am Rhein), winter on the Western Front, 1945. Everyone should bring as much extra equipment and uniforms to help outfit people as best as is possible. If you don’t have any equipment, please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements to equip you out! A safety check will be conducted and everyone will be briefed on the rules and objectives of the event. We will be camping on-site the Friday before so we can start right away on Saturday. If you can not arrive until Saturday morning please do so by 8:30 am or earlier. This is not a public event, so there will be no observers. The weather is expected to be COLD. Bring plenty of warm clothes and extras for when they get wet and something warm to sleep in. We will have a large 1944 USMC Pyramid tent with a stove for us to enjoy and sleep in. There is plenty of room for everyone. The war effort needs you! Learn about and experience that enormous event that shaped the world we live in today. Experience life as an American GI or a German Soldat for a weekend.

Iam still in the process of selling gear, but I would like to attend with the limited gear I do have? I think I'll go American this time.

Great! Be sure to talk with Doc Hopper (Nick) about getting the right gear for an American impression. Don't waste money on stuff you can't use!

Although I didnt see a area large enough at the field. I have a GP medium tent you guys can use anytime. That should house EVERYONE easily. Unless our turnout this time is going to be alot higher.

WOW! Those are awesome tents! Please bring your tents if you can. And Norseman, a good sized cabin tent with a heat source is most welcome.

Event Location.
I suggested to Doc that perhaps we can do the next event in the National Forest. This will give us a lot more space and a lot less neighbors. I know a potential spot that may work about 1 hour north of Spokane.
Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas. If you would like to do the event at the same location please give us your two cents.

I will notify them again of our event, but we are a bit out of the way for them. On the positive side, one of the Germans in my unit said he might be able attend. He would prefer that we play in Idaho too, as he has some toys he would like to bring.
So were in Idaho can this be done?
