Okay everyone, here are some photos of my impression. I portray a comabt medic so my gear may differ then some of you Dog Face soldiers out there
First I will start with my 1928 Haversack and how I pack it. I have it setup for winter operations so there are a few extra items packed in it.
First we start with the pack open and looking at the back. You will notice since I'm not a GI with a weapon I do not have the ammo belt. So my straps have been attached back to the pack to make it into a backpack for easy on and off:
Close up of how I attached it:
Next are some of the items I have loaded into it.
Here is my hygeine/shaving kit:
My hygeine kit, wash cloth and towel:
And my sewing kit:
Okay here is starting to load it.
First is my towel. This will help to cushion the back for those long forced marches:
Next is wash cloth, socks and undershirt:
Followed next with the hygeine kit, sewing kit and my days worth of K-Rations, yummy:
Over the top of the previous items goes my half wool blanket that I use if I get cold to help layer myself. Us skinny guys get cold quick.
Okay so I closed up the haversack and before I close the flap I place my scarf. Another item for those cold days out in the field:
Here is with the top flap closed and the meat can in its place:
And here is a side view of my pack all packed up:
My next few posts I will show my medic gear and what items I carry with me on my person.
Hope you enjoyed!
